The city is probably my favourite place for taking pictures. I've always been drawn to the geometrical. My interest is in the balance and relationship between shapes, rather than their mathematics. Several years ago I discovered that the Winnipeg Art Gallery has a very good collection of photographs by André Kertész. I was astonished by the eye he had for geometry in the city around him. Most importantly, Kertész reminded me that animals have a place in urban photography. |
